Turkey: Ornamental plants training course in Otlukbeli, Erzincan

The project undertaken by Otlukbeli Agricultural Office to offer training in ornamental plant production has been completed successfully. Otlukbeli, a town located in Erzincan, is looking to increase agricultural production in the area and ornamental plants are one of the areas where the officials are seeking for improvements.

20 participants have attended the training course which lasted 1 year and had both theoretical and practical application components. The project is aimed to provide growers another source of income and as a part of the project participants have grown tulip and lilium in a 2,000 square meter greenhouse. The project costs nearly 22,000 USD and was funded by the government. Government officials stated that their satisfaction with the results of the course and noted that they will continue their efforts to increase flower and plant production in the area and other projects will follow this course.
