From 5-7 November 2018 the GlobalGAP Summit 2018 takes place in Lima, Peru. For the first time in the Americas. It is the setting to discuss the latest developments in food safety and sustainability as well as Good Agriculture and Aquaculture Practices and the future of the industry. Around 400 delegates will attend the event in Lima. Industry professionals and specialists from all over the world offer specific insights to trends that are impacting the agricultural sector now and in the future. Peru is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
GlobalGAP will shed light of attention on Peru. The Summit is an opportunity to collect feedback and build long-term ties for a global sustainable future for Peru and neighboring countries. Peru is the third largest country of South America. Peru commits to free trade and exports about 620 agricultural products to Europe, the US and Asia. Peru’s exports have risen at an average annual rate of 12% over the last ten years. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Currently 8,255 Peruvian producers are under GlobalGAP certification. This number has risen by 9.8% from March 2017 and will rise more in the future. Connecting and engaging with Peruvian market leaders is a major goal of the Summit in order to communicate and shape the future together.
