Harm Vogels, Intracare

"It is not necessary to clean the irrigation system during crop rotation"

"Completely clean drip lines, hoses and drippers. That is the conclusion after extensive inspection of drip irrigation systems that have been treated with Hydrocare during cultivation," explains Harm Vogels, Market Developer Horticulture at Intracare. He sees that even up to the last dripper no bio film or other organic pollution is found. During the cultivation there was continuously a low dose of Hydrocare. And that results in clean pipes. Even up to the end of cultivation.

Why still clean the irrigation system with nitric acid during the crop rotation?
Harm: "Unless you are dealing with hard water that causes some limescale in the irrigation system, cleaning during crop rotation is not necessary after using Hydrocare. Re-cleaning a clean irrigation system is simply superfluous work."

In addition to saving on labor, there is another advantage. There is no need to discharge water with increased concentrations of nitric acid. Harm: "By applying Hydrocare during cultivation, a contribution is made to emission-free cultivation."

Intracare advises at the preparation for the new cultivation to also dose Hydrocare directly during the dripping full of the substrate slabs. This ensures the best possible water quality for the young plants. Hydrocare consists of a strong stabilized hydrogen peroxide that decomposes in water and oxygen. Research into oxygen levels in irrigation water shows that the oxygen content with Hydrocare is 10% to 15% higher than without Hydrocare. This extra oxygen has a positive effect on the development of the roots.

Draining before the slabs are filled with water and Hydrocare will be recommended, depending on the situation.
