Owned and operated by husband and wife team Neil Urry and Alex Allen, Vegepod UK Ltd are now looking to expand into the UK garden retail market.
Aimed at the burgeoning grow your own market and designed and developed in Australia by Matt Harris, Vegepod is a unique raised garden bed. The nine year old international company with operations in Australia, the US, Singapore and New Zealand, the UK is the next obvious market due to the growth of the garden industry and fond British affiliation with gardens and the grow your own movement.
Neil Urry, Head of UK Sales & Operations says, “With 9 years experience and a growing portfolio of countries behind Vegepod, we finally felt we were positioned well to tackle the UK market. We wanted to do it right and ensure we were putting our best foot forward at the right time. Our first six months has been outstanding. We have trialled the product at some of the best UK gardening shows and the response has been fantastic. We are confident that the gardening public will really embrace our product and so in 2019 we plan to continue to develop the market by offering it to sale to selected garden centres throughout the UK.”
Remaining true to their horticultural roots, the company is not just about sales but supports community projects and charity groups including High Ground, helping these organisations use vegetable growing to build communities. With distribution based in Surrey and manufacturing based in China supporting all Vegepod locations, Vegepod has big plans in 2019 to launch into chosen independent and chain garden centres across the UK.
