The arrival of floriculture attraction FloriWorld in Aalsmeer has come another step closer as the necessary signatures have been placed on the Design & Build contract. Construction will start next year.
FloriWorld, the floriculture’s experience centre, will offer visitors all sorts of different ways to discover what flowers and plants mean for them in their daily lives. Construction will start in early 2019. The doors will open to visitors during the first quarter of 2020.
Raising awareness and offering experience
The centre will not only attract many domestic and international tourists, but also school trips, student and business visitors. Visitors to the experience centre can find out what flowers and plants do for them. Experience and awareness go hand in hand, and therefore reinforce one another. This will make FloriWorld a day out that can enrich the visitors’ lives whilst also serving as the foundation and calling card for the floriculture sector.
Unique green attraction
FloriWorld supports the strategy to divert tourist flows away from Amsterdam, and is part of the Flowers storyline in NBTC Holland Marketing’s HollandCity strategy. The signing of the Design & Build contract by FloriWorld B.V. and KondorWessels Projecten has brought the arrival of FloriWorld another step closer to making it a reality. FloriWorld B.V. is the commissioning client for the construction of the Experience Centre. KondorWessels Projecten is the developer. The shareholders in FloriWorld BV are the Flower Council of Holland, Royal FloraHolland and Dutch Experience Group. All the partners are striving for one goal: optimum ‘Flowerizing People’.
