Netherlands: Change of directors at Howitec

Howitec announced a change of directors at the company, which will take effect from 1 June. After 27 years, Joop Witteveen will hand over his position to Marco Anneveldt. Marco has broad commercial experience and has also occupied many management roles, including with technical wholesalers.

Howitec is experiencing strong growth in the horticulture, sport, industrial and transport sectors, as well as in the retail market. This growth is being achieved both at home and abroad. At present, foreign sales account for around 50% of our turnover. In addition, their custom-made activities are continuing to expand. This specialised work is carried out in the company, which is also located in Bolsward. Marco Anneveldt will ensure this growth stays on track, both internally and externally. “I appreciate the trust and freedom I have been offered at Howitec”, says Marco. “I look forward to serving our customers in the best possible way, together with my new colleagues to realise Howitec's ambitions, and those of our customers”.

As the owner, Joop Witteveen, will remain involved with developments at Howitec in the background. “I'm really proud of this great company, and the serious position in the market that Howitec has achieved. It has always been a great pleasure to work alongside our enormously committed staff. I'm convinced Marco will make an important contribution to achieving our growth ambitions”, concludes Joop.

Co-owner Anton Hulsegge, as Sales Manager Horticulture, will focus more on product and market development, innovations and expansion of customer contacts. "Due to changes in the regulation of plant protection products and the increase of biological awareness, the demand for specialist nets has increased considerably," says Anton.
