July 18 in Morinville (AB):

'New Blooms' brings new plants to Canadian nurseries & retailers

"It might be the start of an annual event." This is what Debbie Foisy said right after the first edition of New Blooms last year. And her prediction came true. On July 18, Deb’s Greenhouse, in Morinville, Alberta will host the second New Blooms which is dedicated to bringing new and exciting plants to western Canada's independent growers and retailers.

"This one-day event will be showcasing dozens of new plant varieties from multiple breeders in a side-by-side container trial grown by High Q Greenhouses, as well as new variety and cultural presentations from breeding companies across the world. In addition, attendees will have the chance to network with their peers throughout our industry, sharing ideas and successes", says Foisy, owner of Deb's Greenhouse.

She and the breeders attending were very pleased with last year's edition, that welcomed 96 growers, retailers and plant brokers from Western Canada (Click here for the recap of last year's edition). For this reason, they decided to organize it again this year.

And just like last year, in addition to the live plants trial, guests will have a full day schedule of speakers, this year includes Chris Berg from BlueSkye Creative, Rick Rabb from Dümmen Orange, Robert Bett from PlantHaven International, Diane Blazek of All-America Selections, Greenhouse specialist and consultant Dr. Mohyuddin Mirza, and Michiel Verheul of High Q Greenhouses.

The event will take place on July 18 and is free of charge, and lunch is included. Reservations are required and can be made at https://www.debsgreenhouse.com/events/new-blooms-for-canadian-nurseries-retailers-2 or by calling +1 780 939 9690

The event location is at Deb's Greenhouse:
