Russia: Flower cultivation gets boost in Penza

The governor of the Penza area, Mr. Ivan Belozerov, has visited a greenhouses in Mokshany region.

According to the press center of the regional government, they grow roses and gerberas on an acreage of 12 ha there. In 2017 the production was modernized, the equipment was replaced as well as the seedling material. The produce is grown in accordance with Dutch technology, with the usage of dripping system and climate control.

Currently, the enterprise employs over 200 people. The flowers are delivered to Moscow and Moscow region as well as Ekaterinburg, Perm, Saint Petersburg and other cities. The annual production volume amounts to 2 million euros.

“The owner has promised to restore the greenhouses. 1.5 years ago the production facility was modernized. It is nice to see that our specialists are highly estimated and that the quality of flowers is above average. I would like to thank the owner for retaining knowledgeable specialists. I will encourage the investor to continue further construction of greenhouses in the Penza region”, noted the governor.

The complex will be further modernized within the coming 8 years, expansion for another 8 ha is planned, new greenhouses will be built, watering and heating systems will be installed and cooling equipment will be purchased.

The investor also modernized 6 ha of greenhouses in the Norovchatsy region and is planning to engage in the enterprise in the Spassky region.
