The 20th Kunming International Flower Expo in China

From July 12-14, the 20th Kunming International Flower Expo was held in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan Province (China). It was the first time in recent years we had the Holland Pavilion at this trade fair. 15 Dutch companies joined the exhibition, of which 12 joined the Holland Pavilion. Mr. Koen Sizoo, Consul General in Chongqing delivered a keynote speech at the opening, promoting the Dutch horticultural sector.



Invited by Expo organizers, Koen Sizoo made a presentation on the International Floriculture Forum. He introduced how is Dutch horticulture cluster being driven by continuous innovations, and emphasized the importance of Plant Breeder Rights (PBR). A networking reception took place on the afternoon of the second exhibition day, which was open to nearly 80 representatives from Dutch exhibitors and their business partners. The networking event was appreciated by attendances and guests.

Kunming Flower Expo already started the preparations for next year. It will be the same period as this year, in mid of July, and the Netherlands will also organize a Holland Pavilion again. Next year, the Holland Pavilion will be in the main exhibition hall.
