US (MI): Help name a peony book

Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum are working with the University of Michigan Press on a book about peonies. It’s part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Nichols Arboretum Peony Garden in 2022. The book will show how people around the world—and in Nichols Arboretum—have celebrated peonies over the ages and across cultures.

How you can help
They’re looking for a 2-4 word title that captures the spark of joy and fun that people feel when they see peonies in bloom. Think about any aspects of peonies you find engaging that you can capture in just a few words.

Please send your ideas by Sunday, August 18. They’re on a tight deadline to get the manuscript to the printer this fall.

The winning entry receives a copy of the book signed by Matthaei-Nichols Director Bob Grese and Curator David Michener. Title announcement will be sometime this fall, date TBD.
