Burdur municipality grows seasonal flowers and ornamental plants in its greenhouses and uses it to decorate green areas and parks all around the city.
A total of 1 million seasonal flowers and 100,000 ornamental and outdoor plants are grown annually in the greenhouses which are later planted by municipality workers. The varieties grown are viola, petunia, tulip, chrysanthemum, and antirrhinum. On the other hand, outdoor and ornamental plants are usually pot roses, honeysuckle, lavender, oleander, and acacia. The city employs 2 agricultural engineers, one landscape architect, 1 landscape technical staff member, one construction staff member, and 84 workers for the entire operation.
