Kingpeng's fully-open glass greenhouse enable tree seedlings cultivation

China: High-tech greenhouse creates comfort for trees and citizens

With China's economic growth and the improvement of living standards, people have higher requirements for the working and living environment. The greening and beautification of the environment have been paid more and more attention by people and governments at all levels. Each has also increased investment in greening. Green coverage and per capita green space have increased compared with the past.

In recent years, lawn planting has been the main method of greening. The proportion of tree species is low, and there are few tree species in some sites. Through cooperation with Beijing Kingpeng International Agriculture Corporation, a foreign company in Jiangsu Province began to seek development in the field of tree seedling cultivation. Through the fully-open glass greenhouse built by Kingpeng, thousands of tree seedlings have been nurtured this year.

"It's just getting started, through communication with provincial and municipal officials, we have plans to build similar projects in several cities in China." says Lee, the Executive director of their China Branch. "Trees have pharmaceutical use and bactericidal effects. Trees are good at killing bacteria. Many trees secrete anisidine during their growth, killing pathogens brought by dust. Trees act as dust collectors at the same time. Some trees have fluffy skin or can secrete grease. Dust sticks to their bark, which greatly reduces the dust content of the air passing through the trees. In addition, trees can prevent wind and reduce noise. The results show that the noise can be reduced by 8 to 10 decibels in the 30 m wide miscellaneous forest compared with the open space at the same distance."

As a professional growing consultant, Kingpeng also has a professional explanation. Trees can regulate temperature. When sunlight shines on dense forests, about 20%-25% is reflected by leaves, 35%-75% is absorbed by crowns, and 5%-40% is projected to the ground through crowns. Thermal radiation in sunlight is also blocked by crowns, which makes the temperature under forests 3-6 oC lower than that on bare ground. This is the shading effect of trees.

Trees also have the function of sand fixation and natural reservoir storage. In recent years, due to the deterioration of ecological conditions, gale weather and sandstorm weather occur frequently in cities, which seriously affects people's normal work and life. The forest has the obvious function of reducing wind speed and blocking sand and dust. Some data show that the effective horizontal protection distance of the Shelterbelts constructed generally is 20 times higher than the height of the shelterbelts.
