12 years ago Herplant BVBA started a breeding program to develop resistant varieties against the dreaded boxwood blight. These 4 new varieties can be discovered at the Grootgroenplus trade fair from October 2nd to 4th 2019. These hybrids will be marketed under a brand name and are protected by plant breeders' rights.
European market
From spring 2020, these new resistant Buxus varieties will be exclusively on the European market, distributed by distributors who have sufficient experience with Buxus. In recent years, Buxus has ended up in heavy water and, unjustly, a negative image has been seen in the media.
These resistant hybrids create a new wind in the world of Buxus. There are also discussions with some important historical gardens in Europe where the new hybrids will be introduced in the coming years.
