Since 1 September, Michèl de Wit is managing director at Hortilux. De Wit has been working at Hortilux as Commercial Director since 1 April and is now taking overall management of the company. He is a familiar face in the industry: as commercial director of Ridder Growing Solutions, he has built up a wealth of experience and a broad network in international horticulture.
“A few years ago we went through the transition from a fixture supplier to grow light specialist. In addition to HPS, LED and hybrid solutions, we offer specialized knowledge and support with regard to the optimal use of grow light. In other words, we now also offer our services during the usage phase to increase the return per m2 for our customers by making better use of light. We are also expanding internationally to new markets and applications. We see strong growth in global greenhouse horticulture, but certainly also in innovative Vertical Farming / Urban Farming concepts and in the cultivation of medicinal cannabis," says De Wit.
He continues: “In my first five months at Hortilux, I saw that this company has a huge wealth of knowledge and innovative power. For our customers and us, that is the key to success in the coming years: using high-quality systems and specialized knowledge to achieve the maximum result from the use of growth light. I am very confident and will be happy to get started in my new role!”
