Horticultural producers and public garden operators take stock of new legislation

There will be a conference to take stock of the new legislation in the field of phytosanitary products and sustainability. The initiative is promoted by ANVE – Associazione Nazionale Vivaisti Esportatori (the Italian national association of nursery stock exporters) and AIDTPG – Associazione Italiana Direttori e Tecnici Pubblici Giardini (the Italian association of public gardens directors and engineers). Both associations protect and support private and public operators in the horticultural sector in Italy.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday 26th September 2019, at 2:00 pm. This is the first exhibition day of the 70th edition of Flormart, the International Exhibition of Horticulture, Landscape Architecture and Green Infrastructure, which takes place at the Fiera di Padova.

ANVE and AIDTPG are very closely following the developments of both the Regulation 2016/2031 on new protection measures for plants against harmful organisms, due to become applicable on 14th December 2019, and the new PAN – Piano di Azione Nazionale (National Action Plan) on sustainable use of phytosanitary products.

The latter, recently revised, will set the procedures for phytosanitary practice in private and public green areas as well as make the restrictions on phytosanitary products more appropriate for each area of application.

The event, aimed at providing information on the provisions of the new legislation, will benefit from contributions by technical and institutional partners from the sector, such as the Italian Ministry of Agriculture Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies, Plant Protection Office, Comune di Padova, the Consiglio dell'Ordine Nazionale dei Dottori Agronomi e dei Dottori Forestali (council of the Italian national association of chartered agronomists and foresters), the Collegio Nazionale dei Periti Agrari e dei Periti Agrari Laureati (Italian national association of agricultural experts and engineers), Padova Fiere and AIPH-International Association of Horticultural Producers.

The event will be held at the ANVE exhibition area in Hall 5 of Padova Fiere, Via Tommaseo 59, Padova.
