Christina Stembel, founder of Farmgirl Flowers

"Transparency saved my business"

Growing up on a farm in northern Indiana, Christina Stembel made flower arrangements on her dining room table, but very quickly she started to use up all of her available flowers. With Farmgirl Flowers she wanted to support local farmers. However, by taking out the middle man in the chain, she was not looked at very popularly by a lot of the companies, she says.

When she didn't receive a huge part of the flowers she needed for her arrangements, she decides to send all her customers a letter, explaining why she had to change her entire supply chain.
