Video: Colombian growers pay tribute to New York

Three Colombian growers recently went to the US to pay a tribute to New York. Rose grower Jose Azout of Alexandra Farms, hydrangea grower Catalina Arango of Flores Del Este and alstroemeria grower Daniel Velez of Sausuque brought the extraordinary selection of Colombian flowers and foliage to Kelsea Olivia.

With these flowers, they created standing creations in her floral studio in upper Manhattan. Then, the installations were placed on iconic areas around the city.

But why New York? "The US is our largest market and New York has been the starting point for inspiring ideas, images and trends to make the world fall in love."

The first tribute took place in the heart of Central Park. Then, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where they also handed out flowers to visitors. Finally, part of the tribute was Dumbo - one of the most photographed locations in the world - where they set up a frame of Colombian flowers so that it would be part of all the pictures taken by the visitors.

The Flower Tribute Tour is an Initiative of Asocolflores and the Government of Colombia.
