Compostable sachet nominated for a Greenovation Award

Recently Chrysal introduced a new sachet, the Compostable sachet. This sachet is decomposable within 12 weeks, the same amount of time as a banana skin.

With this introduction Chrysal wants to make a difference at the consumer, also within the horticultural sector, the introduction has been noticed. The sachet is nominated for a Greenovation Award.

Sustainability comes first at Chrysal for many years. Ten years ago they started with Chrysal Cares, their Corporate Social Responsibility program. “By using Chrysal products, significantly less water is used in the post-harvest process,” says Chrysal in a newsletter. “During transport, the products of Chrysal ensure that flowers stay fresh even longer and therefore reducing wastage. In the store, we use smart solutions to lessen our environmental impact of our packaging. For example the Bag-in-Box, our packaging which contains 70 percent less plastic. Then, of course, there’s our products which find their way into the consumers’ home.”

The company also placed 898 solar panels on the roof of their company in Naarden. “Sustainability is in our DNA and we continue to work hard to make the chain more sustainable in order to contribute to a better world.“
