US: Greenville plant grand opening to host Nufarm CEO Greg Hunt and Mississippi Governor Bryant

Nufarm Americas Inc. announced plans to host a Grand Opening Event at its Greenville, Mississippi, manufacturing facility on October 23, 2019. The event will welcome Nufarm channel partners and several Greenville, Washington County and Mississippi officials, including Commissioner of Agriculture Andy Gipson and Governor Phil Bryant.

Greenville was selected as the site of Nufarm’s third US plant last November, which is a significant expansion of the company’s North American footprint. The facility will support Nufarm’s growing herbicide portfolio with state-of-the-art formulation and packaging operations.

“This is truly a plant for our customers,” says Brad Hyman, vice president of crop protection sales. “It will give customers more choice and flexibility through reliable access to a high-quality, efficient supply of Nufarm products.”

Nufarm’s newest plant is a gain for US agriculture as well as the State of Mississippi and Community of Greenville. The 104,500 square foot facility started as a decommissioned industrial property on 16 acres and required substantial renovation to become a modern operation. Nufarm reclaimed infrastructure, recycled steel and ground and re-used concrete throughout the project.

“This $20 million investment with 68 manufacturing jobs is the first such announcement in Greenville in over a decade and adds to over $100 million in local, state and federal investments announced during this administration. We look forward to growing a better Greenville together with Nufarm,” said Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons.

“The opening of Nufarm in Greenville provides not only jobs and investment, but it also creates a partnership with a global company that is community minded, safety oriented and environmentally responsible,” added the Mayor.

Nufarm CEO Greg Hunt, along with several members of the executive and commercial team, will travel to Greenville for the Grand Opening Event on Wednesday to honor the plant’s opening and welcome guests. Additional coverage of the event will be provided at the Nufarm Americas Twitter account.
