Start of Fc588 use for ten seasonal flowers on 11 November 2019

On 11 November 2019, the Fc588 flower bucket will be rolled out further. From then on, it will also be used for a further ten seasonal flowers. This applies to both clock and direct trade. These are Alchemilla, Antirrhinum, Brassica, Carthamus, Delphinium, Echinops, Echinacea, Eryngium, Helenium and Solidago. This means that growers of 18 products will be able to benefit from the advantages of Fc588 from 11 November onwards.

Every day, Royal FloraHolland work on improving their logistics services and increasing efficiency as much as possible. By introducing the new, efficient Fc588 flower bucket, they are responding to the increasing use of CC containers in the export trade, working to improve sustainability and ensuring that chain costs are reduced.

Release of ten seasonal flowers
From Monday 11 September 2019, growers of the following seasonal flowers can also supply (both Clock and Direct trade) in Fc588 and/or Fc598 buckets:

  • Alchemilla
  • Antirrhinum
  • Brassica
  • Carthamus
  • Delphinium
  • Echinops
  • Echinacea
  • Eryngium
  • Helenium
  • Solidago

Earlier this year, the product groups Lisianthus and Alstroemeria and six other seasonal flowers started using Fc588 (and Fc598). This week (42), Royal FloraHolland will reach the 4 millionth circulation of this flower bucket. All product groups that are already able to use Fc588 and/or Fc598 are listed here.

They are opting for a phased introduction per product group in order to ensure sufficient availability, also during peak periods. Use by groups other than the released product groups is therefore not yet possible.

Issue Fc588/Fc598 starts 4 November 2019
For the suppliers of these ten product groups, the Fc588 and Fc598 will be available as of Monday 4 November 2019. The regulated issue takes place from our packaging locations in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk, Rijnsburg and Eelde, and at Veiling Rhein-Maas and Plantion.

Roll-out process 2020
The roll-out will continue in 2020 and Royal FloraHolland will release new product groups for use with the Fc588/Fc598.
