North Carolina poinsettia open houses

Did you know that North Carolina is ranked #2 in poinsettia production? Then it should come as no surprise that there are a number of poinsettia open houses being hosted in North Carolina. Below lists details of all three. All three events are free and no registration is required.

Industry Day #1
Thursday, December 5: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (with industry suppliers present)  

Lunch provided by Fine Americas.

Industry Day #2
Sunday, Dec. 8: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Growers are welcome to visit either day.

The event is free, and no registration is required. Come see the latest trials with over 130 cultivars and color combinations. In addition, there is a PGR trial on 4.5 inch pots. Co-Sponsored by the NC Commercial Flower Growers Association.

The retail trial with 100 cultivars will be on display at Homewood Nursery & Garden Center's Poinsettia Open House. Call for details: 919-847-0117

Sunday December 1: 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. - Mitchell's Nursery and Greenhouse
King, NC 

Mark your calendars for Mitchell's Nursery & Greenhouse's Poinsettia Open House at 1088 W. Dalton Rd. in King, NC 27021. It will be Sunday, December 8 from 12:00 to 4:00. We are one of two commercial greenhouses in the state to hold poinsettia trials. We are growing over 10,000 in 93 different varieties this year. You will enjoy seeing new varieties, voting on your favorites, and free refreshments. The poinsettias will be on display about 1 week before and 1 week after.  For more information: 336-983-4107
