“What you learn in floriculture is to take care of a flower, sow it well, water it, fertilize it, give it daily love, and is the same with people”, Lucie de Vélez of Asocolflores. She is the creator of the "Cultivemos la Paz en Familia" program that this year celebrates 20 years since its implementation.
The aim of the program is to empower workers and their families, delivering tools that allow them to assertively address the conflicts that arise in daily life. “Everyone in the group had to get their family conflicts out, and we met much better afterwards, because we had given each other a personal bit.”
Currently, there are 22 companies that attend the program and 60 new facilitators were trained last year in Cundinamarca and Antioquia, for the program update. “In the end, not only does it help each family, but it provides in a very special way the union of the whole sector, since all the workers become one family.”
