The brand Lotz of Roses has been completely reimagined in collaboration with rose breeder De Ruiter. The new product line offers a spectrum of intense colors, with a minimum of ten flower buds per plant, and is available at Plant nursery Valstar year-round.
From February until October, the five-hectare garden at Valstar is used to cultivate potted plants – chrysanthemums, begonia, platycodon, hydrangea and celosia. The other months, Plkw Valstar is the supplier of vegetable 0plants for professional cultivation.
Since 2017, a second location was added and equipped for potted roses. “We had to strip down the entire greenhouse and put a near brand new one in its place. The frame was still there, and the rest was put in”, Jan Valstar remembers.
"De Ruiter Roses had so many varieties in stock and asked if we wanted to start a product line with them. We already had a previous line of potted roses but saw an improvement point in De Ruiters’ product range. That is why we decided to switch over to this variety.”
