GASA Young Plants shows main selling varieties for Scandinavian market at “Poinsettia Open House”

Again this year, GASA GROUP’s Young Plants department held a “Poinsettia Open House” in cooperation with Dümmen Orange. Around 50 visitors, mainly growers, joined the event on November 13 2019 at GASA GROUP’s new domicile at Logistikvej 4 in Odense, Denmark.

GASA Young Plants showed the main selling varieties for the Scandinavian market together with new test varieties. "The visitors were strongly interested in the well-known variety, ‘Autumn Leaves’, and the upcoming variety, ‘Golden Glo’. Those two varieties match the early autumn sales well - just before the traditional Poinsettia sales begins", says Brian Borup, Sales Consultant at GASA Young Plants.

At the “Poinsettia Open House”, the 2019 novelty, ‘Freya’, which has been tested and grown at several nurseries, was also shown to the visitors. GASA Young Plants expects ‘Freya’ to be a good alternative to the well-known variety, ‘Early Scandic’.

Besides this, a seminar on Green Guard and “IPM” – Integrated Pest Management – was held by Jürgen Zweihoff from Dümmen Orange. "The seminar was highly appreciated by the visiting growers."
