Insights, the replacement of FloraneXt, provides users with real-time insight into price and market developments, making it easier to set a good price for clock presales and direct trade.
Insights allows users to view sales orders, find clock data and (soon) direct data. The clear, graphic presentation of information also makes it easy to spot trends.
Insights was developed and tested by a group of around 200 growers over the past few months. Growers have been able to give feedback for quite some time now, which has enabled Insights to be further optimised. Insights is now available to all growers.
Floriday asked Insights experts, Martien Röling and Alex Jansen about the most frequently asked questions at the Aalsmeer Trade Fair:
1. Does Insights contain the same data as FloraneXt?
Yes, for the most part, it does. Insights focuses primarily on more up-to-date pricing in the marketplace. We started with the data that is most frequently viewed in FloraneXt. Step by step we will expand this with data that is relevant for growers. FloraneXt also contains a lot of data that is hardly ever viewed. We will not transfer this data to Insights. As of 31 December 2019, you will no longer be able to use FloraneXt.
2. What else will be possible in Insights in the near future?
The Market image tab provides a general impression of the pricing on the clocks. A price index is shown for each main group, which makes it possible to monitor general price formation over the longer term. In addition, filters can be created based on location, products and gradings, in order to be able to follow the pricing of multiple products on the clock. Market image is now open to a number of test users. Would you like to become a tester as well? Send an e-mail to email@example.com.
In addition to all clock-related data, direct sales data will be available in Insights within two weeks. It will soon be possible to make a comparison between clock turnover and direct sales turnover.
3. Does Insights offer an auction day report just like FloraneXt?
An overview per product group with the average price and quantities will soon be available in Insights as well. Part of this information can be found in Market image. We are also working on a quickly consultable overview at group level. This will be available on Insights by the end of the year.
4. I can see the price of other growers, is that right?
Yes, Insights allows you to see the prices of other growers. This feature in Insights only allows growers (not buyers) to compare their prices with other growers per auction group based on the average price, product and pot size/stem length. This information is currently also available to everyone. If you visit the clock daily, or have a Clockview subscription, then you also have access to this information. We are only making things a bit more transparent.
We use this data to try to create a more level playing field and put growers in a stronger position in relation to the trade. Buyers who visit the clock daily are constantly informed of all prices per grower. For many growers, this is often impossible to keep up with. With Insights, growers now have faster access to this public information. If said grower is phoned up by a buyer, he has all the necessary insight directly at hand.
The transparency of this data is in accordance with the information policy of Royal FloraHolland.
5. Why is Insights more expensive than FloraneXt?
Insights has been completely renewed and improved and shows different and more insights than FloraneXt. Ultimately, Insights offers growers more knowledge of the market (position) so that they can enter into negotiations from an even stronger position. We will continue to develop Insights in order to make it even more in line with the wishes of growers. Insights now consists of a number of components, but don't be surprised if this is greatly expanded in the coming months.
As a grower, you can save money with the temporary subscription that is available. You can easily set up when you want to stop the subscription. This will prevent you from continuing to pay in the event that you do not use it for a certain period of time. This may well save you money!
