When a greenhouse has been around for a while, the screens eventually need replacing, as is the case for grower Erik Groenestein this autumn. After 23 (!) years, it was time for a change.
In all those years, no screen installer needed to come to his greenhouse because there were no problems, but now the time has come to give the screen installation a touch-up. Luiten Greenhouses is the company taking on this job.

"I got to say, the installation still looks quite decent," says Ruud den Engelsman of Luiten. “It also remains fun to see how the screen and installation were installed back then.”
Ruud comes across older screen installations often, but in most of those cases, the screen cloths and atlas wires have already been replaced. That is not the case here, but this will change in the time to come. Then Erik can continue breeding Acer, Hamamelis, Chamaecyparis, Cedrus, Cryptomeria, and Pinus with peace of mind. "That hasn’t changed in those 23 years", Ruud says.
