Ecuador: Nearly 700 participants for Siflor 2019

Last week, the seventh edition of Siflor was held in Quito, Ecuador. In total, 697 people participated in the conferences that were held on Wednesday, November 27 and Thursday, November 28.

For this edition, Expoflores prepared a completely new program not only for the technicians but also including conferences for sales teams, general managers and administrative staff.



The technical program included conferences on topics like plant physiology, sustainable soil management, rose diseases management, vase life extension research, use of organic and biological options for pest & diseases control.



The conferences for sales teams, general managers and other administrative staff included topics like Agriculture Blockchain, improving access to the Chinese market, phytosanitary treatments, sea freight, direct freight to the final customer, energy efficiency, Big Data, and other topics.

This year, speakers were from Ecuador, The Netherlands, United States of America, Colombia and Spain; all of them are industry professionals, researchers and other specialists of the flower industry.

The Symposium takes place every year; one year in Ecuador and the following year in Colombia.
