KG Greenhouses has presented another update video on their project in Spalding UK. Phase 2 is well on schedule, making the glasshouse a total area of 17.5 hectares.
Bridge Farm Nurseries and Neame Lea Nurseries have become one of the biggest in the UK. Phase 1 is already up and running for a year and full of ornamental plants. In phase 2 also herbs will be added.
The project includes 2 massive 8 MW biomass boilers from Justsen Denmark, with a huge fuel storage area with 4 Toploaders. The system is prepared for a large variety of fuels, to be prepared for possible rising biomass fuel costs. The planned start up is before Christmas.
"The weather has not been helpful the last months, but thanks to the hard work of the building teams and the best machines, the project is still on schedule", Bernardo Greeve tells us. "The workers were challenged by lots of rain which resulted in bad soil conditions. The use of tracked platforms has been a great benefit."
At the moment the soil in the growing areas is being levelled and already in January the installation of the benching system will be started up. The first plants are expected in February.
