Sander van Koppen (Rabobank) points to Dutch company for Horticultural Business prize:

“Do not underestimate how much it takes to run a company like SK Roses"

At the end of each year, the Dutch bank, Rabobank's Sander van Koppen always reflects on whether there is another suitable candidate for the Horticultural Business Owner's Prize. At the end of 2019, he chose SK Roses.

“What struck me is how this young new generation works together within the sector. They are also genuinely involved in further promoting the sector. The three brothers complement each other within the business' management. They also encourage each other to stay sharp. I felt that very strongly," says Van Koppen.

“This sector is aging. So, it is nice to see a new generation stepping up. And then, not only for their company - for horticulture as a whole. These brothers have taken the lead, in the form of Marc Koene. They are uniting other growers in standing against the increase in renewable energy storage taxation. That is an example of SK Roses' belief in the power of unity."
