Hans van der Poel delivers 500th bucket filler

Machine manufacturer Hans van der Poel BV. from Roelofarendsveen, the Netherlands, is specialized in machines used in greenhouse horticulture. Nine years ago, Dutch tulip grower Joost Wesselman came walking in with a request; he wanted a bucket filler specially designed for round buckets. Hans van der Poel Ltd. in return, developed the Aquamatic, a bucket filler that is easily adjustable from 3 liters to 13-liter buckets. The Aquamatic became the proverbial ‘hot cake’ among the bucket fillers; by now, nearly two hundred have been delivered.

The 500th bucket filler has been installed at Arcadia. This one came with a cake.

Hans van der Poel after that, developed the Quickfill, a simple bucket filler for both the round- and square barrels. The main advantage of the machine is that there are no longer water drippings falling on the flowers.

Another six years past and the Squarefill was added to the product line, an automatic machine that processes square barrels. The Squarefill can stack and fill every square auction barrel and Proconas with both water and cut flower nutrition. The machine can also be equipped with a collar placer, the Squarefill 500+.

The machine manufacturers at Hans van der Poel Ltd. feel honored that they were able to place the five hundredth bucket filler this year, a Squarefill 500+, at one of the leading chrysanthemum growers in the Netherlands, Arcadia (located in De Kwakel, De Lier and Kwintsheul).
