When you say greenhouse, most people's minds go to vegetables, flowers, maybe some other crops, but reptiles is usually not the first thing on your mind. That's different for Ryan and Kyle from Primitive Predators in South Florida. They already have a greenhouse and are now building even more as enclosures for crocodiles and other reptiles.
Primitive Predators' greenhouse residents
They use the climate control options from greenhouses to keep crocodiles and tortoises. The greenhouses have retractable roofs and can also open the side screens. This creates air flow and it can rain inside, too. When it gets cold, though, the greenhouses can be shut down and the temperature will be about 10 to 15 degrees higher than outside, without using any heat sources other than warm water.
Primitive Predators films their greenhouses and explains everything about the animals. All of the video material can be found here.
