Russia: New rose nursery launched in Mordovia

A new phase of the greenhouse complex Mir Tsvetov has been launched in Kadoshkino regional center. New greenhouses with the acreage of over 3 ha would allow enhance productivity up to 8 million pieces per year. As of today, Mordovia occupies 15% of the Russian market of cut flowers: the fragrant produce is delivered to 40 regions of the Russian Federation and to the Republic of Belarus.

The press service of the head of Republic of Mordovia has reported that over 6 million euro were invested in the complex. An interest-free loan related to the Foundation for the Monocity Development constituted almost a half of the amount. The equipment has been provided by the foreign partners, Dalsem company from the Netherlands.

In the festive opening ceremony, the head of the republic, Mr. Vladimir Volkov has cut the symbolic 300 million rose, grown in the greenhouse complex. He has underlined that in the current situation with the pandemic, new production launch is a double occasion for celebration. Moreover, once the complex has been launched the local dwellers have received 40 new substantially paid working places.

“We are watching the republican flower growers establish firmly in the Russian and international markets,” noted the head of the republic. “In the current year we intend to grow 42 million roses and in the coming one 45 million. Further the enterprise are planning to grow over 50 million roses per year, i.e. cutting almost 140,000 pieces a day.
