Royal FloraHolland:

Plant passport enforcement as of 1 January 2021

Enforcement of the plant passport at pot level from pot size 10 cm and up will commence on 1 January 2021. Since 14 December 2019, EU legislation requires the use of a plant passport to be able to trade plants. The enforcement of the plant passport for a ≥ 10 cm pot size should have come into effect on 1 July 2020 but was postponed due to Corona and will now commence as of 1 January 2021.

As of 1 January 2021, each plant with a ≥ 10 cm pot size to be sold via the Royal FloraHolland auction channels must display a plant passport. Plants with a ≥ 10 cm pot size without a plant passport will not be auctioned until the grower has provided one.

In very exceptional and special cases it will be possible, in 2021, to apply for a company-specific exemption for a specific product for a limited period of time via [email protected]

As of 1 October 2020, approximately 90% of the supply was provided with a plant passport at plant level from pot size 10 cm onwards.
