Logico is the grower of the month at OZ Planten. "The special thing about this grower is that it’s not a real grower but a sales organization, who organizes sales and logistics for a group of passionate orchid growers."
Logico is located in De Lier. Growers who are member of Logico are:
- Bos Flowers & Orchids (dendrobium nobile, cymbidium 12 cm)
- Fransen orchideeën (dendrobium Sa-Nook, dendrobium berry oda, paphiopedilum leeanum)
- P.P. orchideeën (paphiopedilum 9 en 11 cm)
- VG Orchids (phalaenopsis 6 en 12 cm)
- VG Colors (phalaenopsis royals geïnjecteerd)
- Zeurniet (dendrobium Sa-Nook)
Thanks to the intensive cooperation, the growers join their forces together at Logico and made it possible to offer wide arrangements of orchids to the customer. Logico itself is specialized in adding value with a specialization for the holidays throughout the year. "There are countless unique pot-plant combinations and arrangements available for garden centers, wholesalers, and supermarkets."
Cameleon Orchidee
Logico was founded in 1996 under the name Cameleon Orchidee. This name later changed to Logico: Logistics Cameleon Orchid. Together with sales representative Reinier de Graaf we’ve visited 3 members of Logico: VG Orchids, VG Colours, and Fransen Orchideeën. The total cultivation area of the Logico growers together amounts to 18 hectares!
Unique work method for top quality
The customer has a large choice because of the wide range of Logico offers. Small-day trade orders are part of the daily business, as well as the bigger retail orders. Due to the 6 different growers, Logico is able to supply a variety of orchid mixes with or without added value.
The day trading orders from various growers are delivered fresh to Logico every day and are transported to OZ Planten and other exporters. “We would like to deliver the products as fresh as possible, quality is very important.”
G Orchids & VG Colours
After the team of OZ Planten had a tour at Logico, they visited VG Orchids and VG Colors. This family business has grown over the years to 73.000 m2 of pot orchids, including the mini orchid (pot size 6). They supply 45,000 mini orchids per week. Innovation and distinction on quality are some of the important things of the grower.
VG Colors is well known for their painted orchids and supply around 30.000 pieces per week. A white phalaenopsis get injected with for example with blue ink. The ink slowly runs through the plant and within a few hours the flowers turn from white to blue.
Fransen orchideeën
The last stop of their visit was at Fransen Orchideeën. They are known for their highest quality of Dendrobium Sa-nook. One of the eyecatchers is the Polar Fire and Blue Happiness. This beautiful exclusive orchid is more difficult to plan than, for example, a phalaenopsis.
The total delivery amount of the Sa-Nook orchids are about 25.000 pieces per week. In addition to the Sa-Nook, Fransen also has a very nice range of Dendrobium Berry Oda. This compact exclusive orchid is a true eye-catcher. If this plant is in full bloom, it looks like a bunch of flowers on the table! Furthermore, the Berry Oda also smells very pleasant. Sustainability, quality, and transparency are paramount within the organization.
Logico is also a sustainable company and has different certificates and is of course FSI compliant. "Logico and her growers are excellent partners for OZ Planten, with an eye on the future where fineness, digitalization, sustainability, and efficiency are key factors."
