Belgian grower presents non-alcoholic flower-based beer

Belgian bedding plant grower Fleurig is presenting a special novelty; an non-alcoholic flower-based beer named 'Boer Bloem'.

Leen van den Bulcke and Patrick Naudts of Fleurig

Boer Bloem is brewed in a trialbrewery of Dirk Naudts, the brother of grower Patrick Naudts. The undertone of the flavor is fruity and has a  typical fruit-sour taste. The overtone is elderflower and hibiscus.

The first batches were sold out within a few weeks, as of today the fourth, which has been brewed in a large volume, is ready for delivery.

"We receive requests from restaurants almost daily," says Patrick, "and the beer is now on the menu at various eateries. Various flower shops and garden centers have also shown an interest in putting Boer Bloem on their shelves."
