Substrate specialists meet online on 26 August

On 26 August, Growing Media Europe 2021 is organising an Industry and Policy Day. During this day, aimed at industry and policy, various presentations will be given on the sustainable use of raw materials for cultivation substrates, including a keynote by M. Sánchez-Monedero on biochar in the composting process.

The day is part of a complete week-long programme, but it is possible to attend only online.

Besides the keynote, the programme also includes a workshop by The International Peatland Society (IPS) on environmental issues related to peat extraction and the significance of Responsibly Produced Peat in situations where peat is essential for crop substrates.

In a second workshop, the European Compost Network (ECN) and Growing Media Europe will focus on the EU Fertiliser Regulation and the opportunities and challenges of bringing crop substrates and soil improvers to the European market.

Registration for the online event can be done via this link: https://portal.hortilink.nl. Choose '1-day Virtual Attendance at 26 August only'. The complete day programme for 26 August can be viewed here.
