"Our partner saved up to 700 tons of CO2 in 2020"

If we think of sustainability in our organisation, we usually think of how we can reduce energy, separate our waste and source our products via a certified grower. Of course, these are very important and part of our sustainability goals, now and in the future, writes OZ Planten.

But what happens when we have packed all the products and they are ready to send to our clients all over the world? Then our transport partners come to help us to deliver the plants in time and in optimal conditions. But this is not all, because these partners also have sustainability top of mind.

Our partner Oldenburger, who supplies our clients in Northern of Europe, is making great efforts to reduce CO2 where possible.
For example, by using alternative fuels such as LNG. LNG saves up to 33% C02 per transported load carrier.  Also, they make use of train transport. The trailers are loaded onto a train in Germany and then transported to Sweden. This combination of truck and train transport reduced up to 25% CO2 emission per load carrier.

Last but not least, the truck park of Oldenburger contains mostly so called LZV’s. These trucks are larger and heavier, but they can also transport more load carriers per shipment. By using LZV’s, 22% reduction of CO2 is accomplished. Al these measures have contributed to a reduction of in total more than 700 tons of CO2.
