Agriverco has entered into a partnership with tree nursery Robert Wijsman to breed lavender for the European market. This will combine the knowledge of breeding with the cultivation knowledge of the grower, which will hopefully result in new and improved varieties.
Lavender Stoechas Dark Night
Agriverco is the company of Marcel Moerman, a breeder known for its lavender Stoechas varieties, a sub-species characterized by its 'little flag' or 'crest' (see photo). Besides an assortment of Hebe, Robert Wijsman from Boskoop has also focused on these varieties.

"I have a corner of a cold greenhouse where I do my trials, in the open ground," Marcel tells us. "Robert grows the plants in pots outside in the container field. That guarantees much better conditions, and by seeking cooperation, we can raise the distribution to a higher level together."
This cooperation takes shape in the new company Labreco Europe BV (Lavender Breeding Company), the breeding concentrates in principle primarily on the lavender stoechas types.
