2022 horticulture sector trends announced

The Horticulture Sector Trends for 2022 have been announced. “We are delighted to share the latest trends for flowers, houseplants, and outdoor plants again this year. For 2022 we have developed four style trends that are relevant for the floriculture sector. Style trends may vary significantly, but they are all based on the current zeitgeist. We have developed the 2022 Horticulture Sector Trends in collaboration with Tuinbranche Nederland, iBulb, INretail, and Bureau Nijman + Van Haaster,” Flower Council Holland announces.

Trends based on the zeitgeist
Following the pandemic, we are looking for ways to bring shape to the new world. We are trying to adapt to unpredictability and fickleness but are not all doing it in the same way. While one group sees it as an impetus for positive change, it fills others with fear and stress. There is a risk of polarisation, which is reinforced by the information bubbles in which we live. Within this zeitgeist, flexibility and being constantly attuned to the changing reality are therefore particularly important. We have translated these tendencies into four style trends that can be applied in practice.

Four style trends for 2022
The style trends for 2022 are:
•    Fresh Start
•    Bright and Breezy
•    Traditional Sentiment
•    Wellness Bubble

Promotion of the trends
We have packaged the trends into appealing press materials in the form of both inspirational images and supporting information. We will be encouraging the media to draw consumers’ attention to flowers, houseplants, and outdoor plants. The press material is available now for editorial teams at home and abroad. We are not just offering the press material to the media but also to our stakeholders in the floriculture sector. They can use the images and information in their own communications or as inspiration for point of sale, product innovation, and marketing.
