From October 4-8th, Ball SB hosted an Open Week at their R&D Site in Sesquilé, Colombia to show the more than 300 varieties of their diversified core and new product portfolio from over 30 species. The trials were shown in 6 greenhouses where visitors could find out about the latest developments in Asters, Limoniums, Marigolds, Stock, and Dahlias to name a few.
“At this open week, we had many varieties in trials that really impressed our clients like the Aster Macaroons (a full-round petal flower), Zinnias with vibrant colors, four different very stable colors of Achilleas, the wild “natural” look of the Trachymene Blue Murex, and the Dahlias, especially the white Dahlia with a flower head bigger than a palm’s hand.” Not only do the greenhouses look very colorful with different shapes and sizes but the showroom was breathtaking, with 190 meters full of gardens decorated with degraded colors.
During the same week, even though Proflora was canceled for 2021, Asocolflores still hosted the Best Varieties Contest 2021. For which, Ball participated in the breeding category with 11 varieties from which 5 of them won 1,2, and or 3 place awards in their different subcategories. Following the winners:
