Vitro Plus building new facility growth chambers and laboratory

NL: "This new building will double our cultivation surface"

Vitro Plus commenced building a new facility with growth chambers and a new lab in Burgh-Haamstede, the Netherlands. Completion is planned for summer 2022.

With this new building, Vitro Plus will have new high-quality growth chambers at its disposal, which will make for a total of 10,000 m2 cultivation area under LED, doubling the current cultivation surface area. This means Vitro Plus will be ready to cope with the expected growth for the coming 5 years.

The laboratory and work areas will also be expanded considerably.

Vitro Plus sees a strong increase in market demand for high-quality fern varieties and delivery methods on substrate plugs, instead of agar, and is thus committed to cultivation in growth chambers instead of greenhouses.

Only a minimum amount of water is used, and no pesticides are needed in growth chambers either. The energy demand, therefore, is efficient and future-proof. Solar panels will be installed on the roof to provide for a large part of their own energy demand.
