Dutch nursery changes hands

From January 1st, 2022, Handelskwekerij Lock will be in new hands: Raël Duijvestijn will take over from Peter Lock. This Dutch company specializes in growing succulents. "I've been active in ornamental plant cultivation for 30 years," says Raël, "the last 15 of which have been in flowering pot plants. Two years ago, I was given a chance to take over Handelskwekerij Lock. After preparing for a good year, I'm looking forward to starting this new challenge."

New yet familiar makeup
The nursery will also be relocating; it will be run from Raël Duijvestijn Potplanten in the town of Honselersdijk. From next year, Raël will take on the overall management, and purchasing and cultivation will be his main tasks. Edwin de Jong will continue to be responsible for sales and commerce, so a familiar face will still greet existing customers.

Handelskwekerij Lock, with its broad assortment, has been a well-known player in the succulents segment for many years. The plants are traded through direct sales. With Raël at the helm, the company will continue its upward, expansive trend. It wants to offer an even wider range to its end clients. "I'm ready for a new challenge," Raël concludes.

Visitors to the recent Trade Fair Aalsmeer got to see the company's new corporate look.
