Exclusive packaging of Florequisa’s Minami series carnations

"They were planned for Japan only, but incredible demand is worldwide"

The Minami Series Carnations is exclusively produced by Florequisa. These carnations have had a good acceptance and growth during the last 2 years, with 8 natural varieties and 40 options of Dyed Minamis.

"The feedback we have had from our customers is impressive and motivates us a lot because we accomplish providing not only beautiful flowers but also a quality and innovative product. Minamis are much more than carnations, they really give a new meaning to these flowers, so, through this new packaging and Dyed Minami Collection, we seek to give them the prominence that Minami Carnations deserve," says Daniela Garcés, Florequisa's Marketing Coordinator.

The Dyed Minami collection
The boom of Minamis was with its Dyed Collection. It all started in 2019, thanks to the joint work of Javier Yépez during his Sales Management, Ricardo Morales, Post-harvest Manager, and Daniela Garcés starting in the Marketing and Sales area. "We started with the trials and we had more than 150 options that we have been testing and analyzing to determine the vase life of each variety and each color. We started looking for the name for each Dyed Minami. It took time and lots of laughs because we thought up crazy ideas about the names, but we finally did it. Plus, this simplified the orders of our customers because they identify them very easily with the names of each one," says Daniela Garcés.

The magic of growing
"These varieties are unique in the market, there is no other one with the color and the size of these flowers. Minamis have this characteristic name because they are Japanese varieties with Ecuadorian quality," says Ricardo Morales, Florequisa’s Post Harvest Manager.

The production of Minamis started 5 years ago. "Seeing the feedback from our customers and all that has been achieved is the reward of our work. The Minamis are a great work of propagation and cultivation that now bears incredible results," says Guillermo Vargas, Florequisa’s Technical Manager.

Worldwide feedback
Minamis were planned to be produced only for Japan, but now the distribution is worldwide, and customers like them a lot. “The Minami Carnations have had a great acceptance in the market, the demand for this product and how happy our customers are buying our products are incredible,” says Tanya Yépez, Florequisa’s Sales Executive.

"In Florequisa, we're committed to making you feel the difference thanks to our quality in products, processes, service, and innovation. We seek to exceed the expectations not only of our customers, but also of our people, suppliers, and everyone who knows Florequisa," said Javier Yépez, Florequisa's General Manager.
