At Floriade Expo 2022, the horticultural sector will gather in a very special glasshouse: it is indeed the tallest in the world, says greenhouse builder John Meijer of Bom Group to Omroep West. "This project will put not only horticulture but also Westland even more prominently on the map."It really is a museum piece."
The building has been given the name of The Green House. "The greenhouse has a surface area of 10,000 square meters, is 170 meters long, and 14 meters high," he continues to explain.
One of the most special things about The Green House is a sort of extra loft on top of it. "We are building a staircase so that people can go up and look over the entire greenhouse."
With this huge greenhouse, the Westland builders want to also show the world what they are truly capable of. "It's nice to show the world that we as Westland can build greenhouses in a rather unusual way."
