Australian Cabinet looking to ease close contact isolation as worker shortage increases

The Australian Cabinet is considering allowing more close contacts to go back to work with a negative test. Transport and logistics workers will be at the front of the queue as Prime Minister Morrison and state leaders consider expanding the list of key jobs and services in the face of worsening workforce issues across much of the country.

Workers in the food supply chain have already been told they can skip isolation if they're close contacts with no symptoms, but supermarkets are struggling to catch up. "We need to see people that are asymptomatic being allowed to return to work across the country," National Retail Association CEO Dominique Lamb said.
