Proven Winner's line of Supertunia Mini Vista varieties has expanded this year with three new colors; Mini Vista Midnight, Mini Vista Scarlet, & Mini Vista Yellow. Three colors options will quickly fill a container with a perfect well-branched habit and an abundance of flowers, making these Must-Have varieties for the 2023 season. Unlike any other yellow petunia they've trialed, Supertunia Mini Vista Yellow thrived during the multi-year trialing process without fading even in the hottest of climates. And while we’ve trialed many black and dark-colored petunias, none have met the standard for garden performance until Supertunia Mini Vista Midnight.
Where do these new introductions fit for retailers and gardeners?
The great thing in retailing is that as you increase the series of a best-selling plant, you don’t reduce but create more options for bundling.
In the sales area: Supertunia Mini Vista®, grouped as a series both for hanging containers, uprights, and in the landscape.
In the garden: In the landscape, each Supertunia Mini Vista® covers at least an area of 18” X 18” (2.25 square feet), they never go out of flower, and the growth habit is so dense across the soil surface that weeds do not grow through them.
What does it replace?
Due to these three introductions, no items are being replaced, upgraded, or removed.
Are there changes in the cultural requirements?
There are no differences in the growing culture for these three new Supertunia Mini Vistas compared to the current Supertunia Mini Vista varieties.
What new opportunities does this variety present?
Having a Red, a White, and A Blue (Midnight) in the Mini Vista series allows for colorful patriotic-themed summer containers. Mini Vista Yellow is a very vibrant and vigorous-growing Supertunia and it will be welcomed in gardens and combinations across the country. Supertunia Mini Vista Midnight, with its almost black-blue flowers, will be effective in a wide variety of color combinations. Everything from working across the color wheel with oranges and yellows to working with whites and soft purples.
