Refurbished bucket, tray and crate washers: the budget-friendly, sustainable alternative

Annie and Jan Janssen, founders of Limex, were already building robust and flexible washing machines 30 years ago with the idea that they would be easy to overhaul in the future. Using advanced technology, Limex can breathe new life into even the oldest machines to continue providing good washing results. These refurbished/reusable machines are not only lower priced, but they are also more sustainable.

Reusable washers have a lower CO2 footprint than recycled washers
Reusing washers and reselling refurbished washers on the market is an environmentally friendly alternative. This is even more economical than fully recycling washing machines. A lot of energy and manpower is involved in disassembling machine parts and melting them down into new ones.

When a washer is refurbished, only outdated or worn parts are replaced. This might involve parts in the washing machine such as the pump, drive, and controls. The moving parts in a machine are usually the ones that are susceptible to wear. The washer is well-maintained by Limex, and components are replaced when necessary, which helps other machine components last longer. Furthermore, today’s technical developments mean that newer components are usually more efficient.

Limex buys back outdated washers
When a machine is outdated, Limex supports their customers when overhauling their washing machine. This can be done with appropriate spare parts and/or a complete overhaul of the machine.

If a machine can no longer be used, for example, due to a drastic change in capacity of an operation, Limex will buy back the machine. Then they refurbish this washer and put it back on the market. Together with the customer, they look at which washing machine will suit the current washing requirements better. Before being put back on the market, refurbished machines are always upgraded, including all the applicable CE safety measures, and with a full warranty.

Sinner’s Circle for a reliable and sustainable result
Of course, the high quality of the washing process with a refurbished washer is also guaranteed. This can be explained with Sinner’s Circle - the washing principle that Limex uses in every installation. This principle involves a precise balance of four different variables: chemistry, temperature, time, and mechanical power. The best washing results are obtained when these four parameters are in perfect balance. A proven effective washing method: not a drop of water and/or detergent is wasted.

The solidity of a reusable Limex washer
Two large Limex washing lines proved their worth at the Royal FloraHolland flower auction, where they were operating for no less than 20 hours per day (!) for ten years. When Royal FloraHolland’s requirements changed and their washing machines were replaced, these lines were completely overhauled and taken into use by the vegetable producer P. van Osch and the service provider Box Cleaning Services (BCS). There, these washing lines are in full operation to this day.

Limex designs washers to be future-proof, starting with the basic design of the machine. That is why they only choose the best materials for the construction of their washers.

The advantages of a refurbished washing machine:
● Refurbished washing machines provide equally high-quality washing results as brand-new washers. Because of this, Limex machines have high second-hand value - while the price of these machines remains low.

● Refurbishing an existing Limex machine produces a lower CO2 footprint, which makes this a sustainable alternative to a brand-new machine.

● Another factor is that current global developments have put supply chains under pressure. Delivery times for refurbished washers are usually shorter than new washers. Over the years, Limex has given more than 60 machines a second life.
