Squire’s Shepperton to host national Fuchsia Show

Exhibitors will be attending from across the country, providing the opportunity for visitors to enjoy some of the very best of one of the nation’s favorite flowers, with exhibits including standard and bonsai fuchsias.

The free event will take place in The Orangery at Squire’s Shepperton (located on the right-hand side of the car park). Judging takes place in the morning, and members of the public and Squire’s customers are invited to visit the show from noon.

Visitors can also discover Squire’s extensive plant area and shop as well as visit the stylish Café Bar (booking advisable at weekends https://www.squiresgardencentres.co.uk/cafe-bars/) for some relaxation and afternoon tea.

Colin Squire, Chairman Emeritus of Squire’s, comments: “We are so pleased to be hosting this show, which is of national interest to fuchsia growers, and supporting the British Fuchsia Society. It is a delight to see such shows return after a period of absence. Horticulture is at the heart of the Squire’s business, and it is good to be able to support the industry and growers. I would like to welcome the BFS to Shepperton and wish them an enjoyable day.”

Carol Gubler of the British Fuchsia Society comments: “We are delighted that Squire’s Shepperton will be hosting this national show. After the absence of many horticultural shows over the last few years, it is wonderful that members can come together and celebrate fuchsia in its many forms. We wish to thank Squire’s for kindly hosting this special event and bringing our members together.”

The BFS was originally established in 1938 by Queen Mary, who loved the plant so much that she decided to honor it by creating a dedicated society. Society continues to thrive today, with its 85th anniversary taking place next year.
