PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt is in the starting blocks. The fair’s layout has been determined, the mobile halls have been built, the floors have been covered, and work is now being done on the stands. With a few days to go, all the preparations are proceeding according to schedule. “Next week, visitors will be able to attend an attractive green fair offering ideal opportunities for doing business and making new contacts in a relaxing ambiance. It’s quite something for an entirely new trade fair to present such an impressive range the very first time it’s organized – truly a unique event for professional outdoor plant buyers,” says fair director Linda Hoogendoorn.
Every available square meter of the PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt fair floor has been booked. This means 200 stand holders in 4,000 m2 of the total fair area of 22,500 m2. The central square will feature an attractive presentation of the plants submitted for the novelties inspections. The remaining area will host GROEN-Direkt’s Autumn Fair, which will comprise 5,000 sample batches, a concepts plaza, and an area reserved for the presale of Christmas trees.
Attractive range of novelties
PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt is the place to be for garden plant buyers interested in the range for the new season. Besides the huge up-to-date range of the sample fair, they will also be able to view the 57 new plants and market introductions presented at the novelties plaza. The PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt fair is all about garden plants, and a prominent feature of this fair will be the newly organized novelties inspections, in which plants will be evaluated in three categories: Best Market Introduction, Best KVBC Novelty, and Visitors’ Favourite. Twenty-two plants have been submitted for the Best Market Introduction. Eleven of them will also be evaluated by the KVBC (Royal Boskoop Horticultural Society). A total of 35 plants will be contending in the Best KVBC Novelty category.
The expert jury will evaluate the plants submitted for Best Market Introduction and Best KVBC Novelty on the Tuesday before the fair. The results will be announced during the opening of the fair at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, 24 August. The fair’s visitors will be able to select their favorite novelty using the green balls specially intended for this purpose. They’ll get to choose from a range of ten plants which the fair organizers will nominate from all the plants submitted for the Best Market Introduction. The Visitors’ Favourite will be announced at the end of the fair, at 4 p.m. on Thursday 25 August.
