'No-gas greenhouse' grower goes bust

Last week, Van der Hoorn Orchids was declared bankrupt. This Dutch grower was known locally thanks to his 'No-gas greenhouse.' That greenhouse, first used in 2006, was considered progressive. The sharp electricity price increase is mentioned as an important cause of the bankruptcy. The grower and trustee, Mr. A.Y. Kroll, did not want and could not share further details when questioned by a Dutch Floriculture Trade Journal.

The bankruptcy registration number is 09.dha.22.186.F.1300.1.22.
